Lockdown till 31 March in Manipur-Tripura, relaxation on essential services only

The lockdown was announced in Manipur by 31 March due to Corona virus. However, essential services are exempted from lockdown. This decision has been taken in the state cabinet meeting.

Coronavirus: Lockdown declared in Assam, Manipur, Tripura, Arunachal, Nagaland and Mizoram

In view of Corona virus infection, Manipur has been locked up with immediate effect till 31 March. This announcement was made by the state minister Thongam Biswajit on Monday. However, essential services are exempted from lockdown. The Industries Minister said that this decision was taken in the state cabinet meeting. In Tripura, a complete lockdown has been announced in view of the corona epidemic.

Singh said that the cabinet has also decided to create a separation ward at the Regional Institute of Medical Sciences (RIMS) and Jawaharlal Nehru Institute of Medical Sciences (JNIMS). The government has also decided to distribute free rice for April under the National Food Security Act (NFSA) to help the needy during lockdown.

Rice will also be available without a card

The Minister said that the beneficiaries of Chief Minister Ge Hakhelgi Tengbang Health Insurance Scheme, who do not have NFSA card, will also be given free rice. Singh, the official spokesperson of the government, said that the spread of dangerous Kovid-19 can be stopped only if the guidelines issued by the experts are followed.

Lockdown also in Tripura

Tripura CM Biplab Deb also announced on Monday that due to Corona virus epidemic there will be complete lockdown in the state from Tuesday to March 31. During this time, all traffic services in the state will be stopped and people will be allowed to exit due to necessary work.
