The Indian team lost in the Women's ODI World Cup on New Zealand soil. India won the first match against Pakistan on Sunday at Mount Manganui by 107 runs. First opener Smriti Mandhana (3x4, 1x6 off 52:75 balls), Sneh Rana (53 not out: 4x4 off 48 balls) and Pooja Vatsrakar (8x4 off 67:59 balls) hit half-centuries as India won the toss and elected to bat first, scoring 244 for seven. Did. Pakistan then collapsed to 137 for the loss of spinner Rajeshwari Gaikwad (4/31). At least one batsman on the team failed to score significantly.

With the pair establishing a 122-run partnership for the seventh wicket in the series, India were able to score a respectable 244 runs. Among the Pakistani bowlers, Nida Dar and Nashra Sandhu took two wickets each while Amin, Sana and Dina took one wicket each.
